Terms of Use
Last updated: July 13, 2026. By using OmaReads you agree to these terms. We've kept them as short as we can while still being complete.
Eligibility & Intended Audience
OmaReads is designed for children ages 3–9 learning to read and for the adults who guide them. Accounts are held by a parent, guardian, or educator — adults only. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that any child profile you add is your own child, a child in your care, or a student you are teaching. If you are an educator using OmaReads with a class or co-op, the same terms apply on a classroom basis.
Accounts & Subscriptions
OmaReads offers two auto-renewing Stripe subscription plans:
Monthly — $7.99/month. Access for one subscriber account; you can add as many child profiles as your family needs.
Annual — $69.99/year. Same access as monthly, billed once a year. (Annual pricing may vary by region.)
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard; cancellation stops future billing and your access continues through the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by applicable law. If a payment fails, we retry according to Stripe's standard dunning schedule and notify you so you can update your payment method.
Pricing for our downloadable PDFs (Ms. Oma's printed books, available in the storefront) is one-time per title and not part of the subscription.
Acceptable Use
To keep OmaReads safe and useful for everyone, you agree not to:
Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download stories, audio, or video from OmaReads. Redistribute Ms. Oma's audio, illustrations, or video assets outside the personal or classroom use covered by your subscription. Share your account credentials with people outside your household or classroom. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service. Use OmaReads to harass, harm, or target any child or other user. Submit content through Ms. Oma's reading-coach features that is abusive, illegal, or inappropriate for children.
Intellectual Property
Everything in OmaReads — the Ms. Oma character, story text, illustrations, audio recordings, lesson designs, and video — is © OmaReads and protected by copyright and trademark law. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own child(ren) or your classroom students. It does not grant you the right to copy, redistribute, publicly perform, or create derivative works from our content.
If you are an educator using Ms. Oma's content in a classroom or homeschool co-op, that use is covered by your subscription. Recording or rebroadcasting lessons (for example, posting them to a public YouTube channel or school LMS open to non-enrolled families) is not.
Disclaimer of Warranties
OmaReads is provided "as is" and "as available" for educational purposes. Ms. Oma's reading-coach feedback is designed to support early literacy, but it is not a substitute for individualized instruction from a teacher, reading specialist, or speech-language pathologist. We do our best to make the service reliable, accurate, and safe, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OmaReads and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to your use of OmaReads is limited to the amount you paid us for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You can terminate your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or pose a safety risk to children. If we terminate your account for cause, we will tell you why and (except in cases of serious harm to other users) give you a chance to address the issue.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except where consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction give you the right to bring a claim locally.
Changes to These Terms
If we make a material change to these terms — something that affects your subscription, your rights, or your obligations — we will email active subscribers at the address on their account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Non-material changes (clarifications, contact-email updates) will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of OmaReads after the effective date of a change means you accept the updated terms.
